Seaside School Half Marathon

Kasey and I dragged our families over to the panhandle for a fun weekend at Grandma Terry and Pepa's house for a Seaside Run! We all got in Friday night and visited a little. Saturday we cooked and mainly stayed indoors. It was a cold and windy weekend, the kind thats good for fireside chats-mainly what occurred! But on Sunday Kasey and I braved the cold wind and ran 13.1 miles on 30-A! It was beautiful and I gave my run to God and asked Him to speak to me! I learned just how much to be thankful for as I passed little kids cheering on the runners and a lady that shouted "Keep going! Just think about how you are such a good example for your children!" There was an old hippie playing "Ramble On" by Led Zepplin which made me thankful for my Lord of the Ring! And a restaurant blared out the theme song to Chariots of Fire. I thought to myself, "When I run, I feel God's pleasure!" Kasey had fast goals in mind and I just wanted to run on the beach, but we both PR'd! Kasey even came back for me so we could cross the finish together! I ran it in 1 hour and 53 minutes! Ten minutes faster than last year! Afterwards we collected our Vera Bradley bags, free bbq, beer and massages!

Home growing!

Some shots from around the house-artistic shower scene and bedtime giggles!

Last visits to Orlando on the annual pass!

We totaled up the times going to Orlando taking advantage of our annual passes and we went 22 times, bringing our admission fee to about $10 per visit! Being married to the most thrifty man in the world has its benefits! We stayed in a cheap little room and rested up to see as much as possible! Animal Kingdom on Friday and then Hollywood Studios on Saturday. Woody and Jessie ate pizza at Pizza Planet and we had a special class we signed up for first thing in the morning: Jedi training! Wil and Elsie both signed up but Elsie decided to support her jedi brother from the audience! We thought Wil would fight Darth Vader but to our surprise he fought valliantly against Darth Mal! We were so proud of our little Jedi! Temperatures started dropping real fast and we bundled up tight for the Fantasmic show at Hollywood Studios!

Valentines Day 2013

For Valentines day Flowers suggested all the princesses dress up in characther and the guys dress up like knights. I think Elsie enjoyed it a little more than Wil but he was a good sport! Now Elsie never wants to take off that soft dress-wants to wear it everyday!

Hogtown Medievil Fair 2013

This was the perfect year to get medievil on our families' hinies! The Hogtown Medievil Fair lasts two weekends and the first weekend, I invited all of my family and the second weekend, all of Jason's were invited. For Mom and Dad, they promised to come only if I dressed in character in my wedding dress-mom promised to keep up with the babies. That was a deal I couldn't turn down! Bill and Becky weren't able to bring their families but all of the Pitts made it! They came up for the day. Mom made wreaths for the girls and herself. Melanie dressed up like Snow White, Wil dressed up like the Black Knight-only we called him the Black Knave (he wore Jason's vest from the wedding) and Elsie dressed as a fairy princess. Katie hoisted up her wench knockers and I floated around like the princess I was! Even Brian wore his kilt and they put little "Scotty" (Devin) in one of Mel's skirts and called it a kilt! We all enjoyed the local brew and Mom really enjoyed the singers! Next weekend more fun rolled into town in the form of Ralph, Terry, Joe, and all of Jake's bunch! We exposed them to all the acts enjoyed last week and had a great time pretending we were whisked back in time! Jake made curry chicken for Jason's birthday and we had strawberry parfaits to celebrate Terry's birthday!

Open House

This is a post that combines official Flowers Montessori Open House day and when we opened our house for some family/company and just a little bit of Wil's art work! It was good to see how our kids are learning and they enjoyed giving me the tour of their beloved school! Wil is getting skilled at drawing animals like the snake and Dad's birthday card included a Tolkien inspired knight slaying a fire breathing dragon! Pepa, Grandma, Jessie, and Zayleigh enjoyed watching Isiac push the kids around in the tire swing!

Jason is 39 and holding!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Daddy! The kids bundled up to Eddie Vedder on tv as Dad got a workout in and later on we had a birthday feast! Crab stuffed salmon pinwheels, cous cous, stemed broccoli, coconut shrimp, crescent rolls and pineapple angelfood bday cake!

Epcot and Magic Kingdom with TLC

Trying to get our money's worth out of our Disney annual passes we decided to expose Terry to Epcot and the Magic Kingdom again-her favorite park! Here are some of our best times...

Magic is Clear!

We took our own Magic Kingdom tour guide (Jon Wallace) to the house of mouse and he sure schooled us on how to do it! We were getting fast passes here and running across the park there, catching fireworks and having a ball! About 15 minutes til park closing, we got stuck on the Pirates of the Carribean for about 45 minutes and our butts got real sore! Along with a few other angry pirates we stormed Guest Relations and scored a few passes to come again! It took a while to go through this process and in the meantime, the whole park cleared out. We were the absolute last guests to leave Disney and it was like being in a wierd dream! When had we been there an found the place completely empty? As we left I heard a park employee on his radio call in that "Magic is Clear!"

Animal Kingdom and the tow truck!

We familiarized Terry with the Animal Kingdom and had a few adventures too! We got a little wild with our Grandma and really had a fun day. We worked up a good hunger so we ate at Golden Corral and then it was off home. On the way home we got halfway over an overpass and the Durango died! By this point Wil was out cold and Elsie was just getting fired up! Thank God Jon had been in Orlando for the day and was able to rescue us! We had the Durango towed to Gainesville. Jason, Terry and Elsie rode in the tow truck while Jon escorted Wil and I. It was fun to see the fireworks off in the distance while we waited for the tow truck-couldn't have broken down at a better spot! And Wil had gone so hard that nothing could wake the poor boy up! He has no memory of all the action!

Happy New 2013!!

New Years Eve found us on the road again to the Chick-Fil-A bowl game and our faithful babysitter Grandma Terry held down the fort at home for us. We got in around 10:30 on New Years Eve. Wil did his best at staying awake but he was bright eyed and bushy-tailed on New Years day! Our night owl, in contrast, well she slept in a little later! We watched Rudolph's Happy New Year and drank champagne and sparkling juice and got some good kisses at midnight! On New Years day I took advantage of the good sales at Publix and cooked up a mess of greens and we enjoyed tasting every variety and learning the differences. Happy 2013!

Terry's Spectacle! (of Lights!)

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights in Hollywood Studios was made for people like Terry Cooper! She was on our mind the first time we saw it and we knew somehow we would have to get her there! And we did and she loved it! I think she wants it in her backyard now! It was fun to do something so spirited with her since we were away from her on the actual Christmas day. The next day we rested and unwound as she helped out around the house.

Merry Christmas 2012

Grandma Mona and Grandpa Dan came for Christmas at our house! Grandma brought Christmas cookies, but we also planned on baking a Happy Birthday Jesus cake just as Grandma Elsie used to do! Mom brought the actual cheap plastic nativity scene and we created a fine Birthday cake for our Lord! We toured the Christmas lights around the pond at the hospital and planned came back to the house for our Christmas Eve service! Mom printed out carols and Dad read the Christmas story. We lit so many candles and Elsie and I even had time for a jingle bell run! I made us jingle anklets and found out that Elsie is quite the runner! She didn't stop once and had these fast little burst that I actually had to catch up to! Christmas morning we opened gifts slowly and sipped coffee. We ate breakfast and the kids finally discovered their Santa gift in the backyard which was a playhouse just for them! Mom and Dad watched the kids for us on Christmas evening and Jason and I escaped to the movies to watch Les Miserables (gift from the folks!) What a meaningful, loving and fun Christmas it was!

Christmas in Orlando with Santa Jon

Santa Jon accompanied us on a whirlwind Christmas tour of some of the best Disney has available at Christmas. Jon is a season pass holder and we have enjoyed having him with us. He told us we HAVE to see the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights at Hollywood Studios and boy was he right! I think I have a new happy place now! It was beautiful and we just stared and soaked it up! After getting all lit up we scooted over to Epcot to enjoy Christmas around the World. We learned the Netherlands say "GoooYooouu!" really loud instead of Merry Christmas and we had a brief lesson on their type of Elves! We strolled along and gazed at trains, ornaments, heard the Hallelujah chorus, window shopped and then watched the holiday version of "Illuminations" which concluded with "Let there be Peace on Earth and let it Begin with Me!"

Ralph'a bday and Christmas comes early!

Pepa and Grandma Terry came over for a medical appointment and brought Santa's little elf, Joe with them! We had a little party for Pepa's birthday and then we all gathered around to unwrap a few gifts from Grandma and Pepa! We were so blessed to have them around Jesus's Birthday!

Becky's COTA graduation

Becky graduated from Keiser University at the top of her class in the Occupational Therapy Program and we made the trip to Tallahassee to see it! We had the kids Christmas performance at 10 am and Becky's graduation service at 1 pm so we would have to move with haste! Everything was rolling on just fine until it was announced after the performance that the teachers arranged a special surprise-a magic show! Desperate times called for desperate measures and I informed the kids we needed to get to Tallahassee to celebrate with Becky and then WE had a special surprise for them: dinner at a Hibatchi grill! I told the kids it is like "magic with food!" We rushed into town and caught the beggining of the grad ceremony just in time! Grandma Mona provided refreshements (Christmas tree cookies!) and Grandpa Dan worked the cameras! Becky sang a cute song about the "long strange trip" school had been for her class and she won the "Daniel OTA" award for having the most faith through school! We all are so proud of Becky for working through so many obstacles to reach her success! Thank God the school provided finger food afterwards because we found out all the hibatchi steak houses (Becky's request) opened later in the day! We killed time at Lake Ella and then headed to Mori Steakhouse for a magical evening!

Beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 2012

Our favorite time of the year is here and we are singing Christmas carols, bundling up, writing Santa Claus letters and rocking out at the Flowers Montessori School Holiday Performance! Wil was on fire, dancing around and singing! Elsie hung in there a while, but she got real cold and preferred to be held and cheer on Wil!

Fall Gymnastics 2012

Wil and Elsie are getting taller and more athletic/graceful! They really enjoy gymnastics at the YMCA and we snapped a few pictures of their talents! Elsie scored a nice gymnastics leotard from Grandma Mona and when she dons it she feels like Gabby Sanders!

Christmas Advent 2012

Here are a few Christmas favorites of our from the advent season!
