Sugarbowl/Saint trip and Freeport
All the good folks in Freeport Florida pitched in and helped watched the kids as we headed west to New Orleans for the Saints playoff game and National Championship. Its always fun seeing all the crazy things on Bourbon St. and Saints fans are pretty fun too! Boy that city is crazy! We decided to get away from it all on Sunday with a trip down the delta to Golden Isle, Louisianna. The drive was spectacular as we passed shrimp boats in the canal on the right and cattle grazing on the left! You really got a feel for the damage Katrina caused and how dependent on oil Louisianna is-oil rigs left and right. We drove to where the oil spill last year hit the shore first. There are still cleanups and some residue but it is looking much better (from what I could tell.) We took a short walk down to the tip of the island and sat on the shore for a little bit watching the porpoises play! We ate some good cajun food on the way back and enjoyed our time together while the kids romped on the farm with their crazy cousins!
